Moving while Kilted?

I don't think so! However, Laura and I finally finished the moving process yesterday and we are now 100% moved out of the old place. W00t! To top that off, they bought our refrigerator too! So, sometime this week we will be getting a check back for $1050 covering the cost of the fridge and our security deposit. Now we just need to get the new place put together...it's a disaster in the place right now. This rest of this week will involve making the place completely livable.

The kilt is growing on me. I've worn is a couple times now and it really is an amazingly comfortable piece of clothing. I'm in the process of figuring out what the next one will be like. I'm leaning towards a more traditional one this time, something with a tartan. My only real complaint with the one that I have and the one Dan has is the way it "hangs". The pleats are very large and they form "cowlicks" all over the place. The more traditional ones have a wider apron in the front and tend to have smaller pleats in the rear. I think it will just make it look a little better. That also means that I need to get a sporran which isn't that bad...you will never see me wearing kilt hose though...that's a bit out there for me. :)

Ok, that's all for now.

Seriously Kilted

Seriously Kilted

My kilt finally arrived at my desk on Friday. I carefully extracted it from the box and was quite impressed with the quality. I couldn't wait to get home and try it on. Unfortunately, when I got home Laura's dad showed up to help us move and I couldn't try my kilt on till later that night. It is by far the most comfortable garment that I have ever worn. Sunday afternoon, we headed over to my nephew's high school graduation party and I decided it would be a great time to go kilted. I needed a good test run before going to work and I figured hanging out with family would be a good place to start. Considering my brother-in-law was walking around with a seashell bra and a grass skirt, I wasn't the most eye catching person there. I got lots of compliments and a couple questions about my "skirt". My niece insisted on taking a picture to send to all her friends. After only one day, I'm already planning my next kilt purchase. If they were only a little less costly...but they are handmade so I don't mind too much.

Don't ask me why we are so serious in the picture...shrug.

Busy little beaver...

I was curious how many people would read this based off the title...ya bunch of pervs.

Anywho. Thought I would shoot out a quick update. We are picking up the keys to the new apartment tonight and we will start moving our stuff in tomorrow. I hate moving, but at least the payoff is worth it.

I'm still waiting for my kilt. Dan is down to 5 days till he can wear his. Hopefully mine will ship out soon. I'm excited! W00t!

I've also just ordered a new camping knife. It's a ritual that I've partaken in for sometime. Generally, it's just for the sake of getting a new knife...but now I am on a mission to find the perfect camp knife. Hopefully this will be the one. From what I've read, that's the word on the street. In the process, I've also decided that I am going to start carrying a fixed blade pocket knife. I've found the one I want to get and added it to my wishlist (hint hint).

The first trailer camping trip was a success. It was great having so much bug free space. We did learn though, that despite it being waterproof and a trailer...it's still a large glorified tent. So after it rains, you still need to set it up to let the canvas dry. I'm looking forward to the rest of the camping season though, a trailer is so nice.

Off the top of my head, that's all. I am sure I am missing something. But don't worry, it doesn't make it any less important...my brain can only hold so much for so long before it starts purging.

No Turning Back Now...

Today is payday! Know what that means? That means it's kilt ordering time! With a little luck yesterday, I was able to find the belt I wanted in black and get that ordered. This morning, it was time to order the kilt. I was order number 107. W00t! Now I just have to wait a couple weeks for it to arrive and then I get to see what it's like to wear an unbifabricated garment. At some point when I am comfortable wearing it and that none of my curious bits are showing when I go up stairs or bend over, Rowe and I going to be the first guys to wear kilts to work! Time to make history!
