Can't imagine I'll find a better place to do this...

She said YES! YES! YES!

What's so special about today? Well, it's Laura and I's one year anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, we decided to we would hide our very first cache. One year ago today, on our first date, Laura and I hunted for a cache. Unknowing to her, however, today was going to be more than just a hike in the woods. Hidden within the pockets of my backpack lay a tiny compressed piece of coal sitting in a platinum band. As we walked down the path looking for the perfect place to place the cache, we stumbled upon a side trail that led down to a good size river with huge boulders everywhere. We were able to stash the cache in that area very nicely. After placing the cache, I jumped out on this big boulder in the middle of the river and had Laura join me. I had a hard time standing on that boulder as I was sure the butterflies were going to carry me away. I mumbled, "I don't think I'll find a better place to do this" and drop to one knee. Of course, the result was as I had expected. Well, actually I wasn't expecting the amount of yes's that came out of her mouth and the 47 hugs that I got. But thats why us guys do this, right? ;)

Newsletter

Just a quick test.

She said YES! YES! YES!

Hey Everyone,

This is the first newsletter sent from Landry's Place. I don't plan on sending these too much, but I had to make a big announcement. Last night Laura and I got engaged. I'm sure most of you knew it was happening as Mom has a difficult time keeping a secret. :) Yesterday was our one year anniversary. A year ago, we spent our first date hunting for a geocache in the woods near Buffum Hill Dam and we thought it would be quite appropriate if we hid our first cache to commemorate our one year. What Laura didn't know, was that I had purchased an engagement ring and was planning on popping the question. We headed down to Purgatory Chasm to find a nice spot for our new cache while I was looking for a nice place to get down on one knee. We stumbled upon a small trail that headed down towards a medium size river. We found a nice spot for the cache and headed down to explore around the river. In the middle, was a HUGE boulder. I got Laura on the rock with me...and I'm pretty sure I mumbled, "I guess I'm not going to find a better place to do this." I dropped to one knee and asked. Of course, I got a yes. Followed by a dozen more and about 47 hugs.

I just wanted to let everyone know that hadn't heard from mom. If you venture over to %uri you can find a rather cute picture of Laura seconds after getting the ring on her finger.

Thanks for reading,
Love Adam

P.S. I am missing some people's email addresses. If someone could send me the following: Susan's, Auntie Paulette's, Auntie Rachel's, Auntie Syl, Mandy and Yolanda.

And we're back!

Ahh, what a glorious weekend. To celebrate all the goodness that's been happening this past week, Laura and I spent the weekend in Boston. She's never really had the chance to do the tourist thing so I took her out for a weekend on the town. We did bulk of the stuff on Saturday resulting in walking for roughly 9 hours. Needless to say, we were a little sore Saturday night. We walked Newbury Street, toured the Public Garden and Boston Commons. I took her to Cheers for lunch and we got a couple nice Cheers glasses to add to our collection. From there, we walked to Faneuil Hall and browsed the shops. Laura got this neat "wrap" that can be worn as a dress or shirt or skirt. Then we headed over to the Aquarium and got to see the penguins. We ended the evening with a dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and a walk through the Cambridge Galleria where I bought my Thundercats belt buckle. On Sunday we spent a couple hours in the Boston Museum of Science and then came home. It was a fantastic weekend and I am glad that we did it.

Not only did we have a great time touring Boston, but we started some preliminary wedding plans. We've pretty much got the guest list nailed and have some great ideas for the ceremony. It should be interesting as we aren't going to have a very traditional wedding. More details to follow on that.
