Phil Vassar Day!

Laura and I took the day off today to go to a lunchtime Phil Vassar concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston. If you haven't had the chance to see the Hard Rock in Boston, you need to check it out. It's awesome. The concert was cheap too. $25 for the both of us AND we got two Autographed CD's. How the hell can you argue with that!? We though we were going to be early, but we didn't expect to see that many people waiting at the door when we walked up to get in, but we lucked out and got pretty good seats. Some of the people that came in after us had to stand in the middle for the whole show, which was only about an hour and fifteen minutes. He's a real funny guy. The show was awesome and his new cd is pretty sweet also. While at the Hard Rock, we ordered a couple fancy drinks and got souvenir glasses and then we bought a couple t-shirts. Then we just killed a couple hours walking around Boston until the train came. It was "Just another day in paradise!" :)

I am Iron Man!

Whoa! What a movie. Talk about a crazy thrill ride. I recommend everyone go and see this movie. Robert Downey Jr. fit the part like none other. Besides the obvious action that you'd expect seeing in a movie like this, there were many laugh out loud moments. I don't want to say anything to ruin the movie, but check it out. Also, if you follow the comic, there is an interesting tid-bit at the end of the credits. If you don't follow the comic, it's prolly not going to mean anything to you except SEQUEL!

Cloverfield Thoughts

Laura and I went to Mike and Wendy's last night and ended up watching Cloverfield. All in all it wasn't a bad movie, much better than I was expecting. If you aren't familiar with the movie, it's shot from the point of view of a group of people who are trying to get out of Manhattan as a 30 story monster destroys it. The filming is reminiscent of the Blair Witch Project which adds a level of realism to the movie. There were a couple times during the movie when I got frustrated that the camera kept falling in and out of focus. Other than that, I don't feel the movie was hurt by that filming style and it helped immerse you into the film. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend you give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprise!

What part of 1+1=10 don't

What part of 1+1=10 don't you understand?

A Streetcar Named Desire

Dad, Laura, and I went to see the play A Streetcar Named Desire yesterday at Foothills Theater in Worcester. I had picked to see that play mainly because I hear it referenced to a lot and I was curious about it. Foothills tends to do a fantastic job with their set design and this was no exception. It was a very dream like setup with the tilting floors and broken mirrors. I am not going to attempt to explain what exactly the play was about, but it was intense and had rather odd moments. I think we all enjoyed it, even if we were left with a little more on our minds than when we came in. I did a little reading online to get a better understanding of the "message". If you have a chance to check it out, do so. I don't think you will be let down.

"STELLA!!!"

Love and Marriage...

Hey Everyone,

I know I said you wouldn't be getting very many of these messages, but I figure it's the only way most of us keep in touch. Laura and I have started the planning for the wedding and looking at a couple places. I get the feeling we are going to have this thing planned out by the end of the year and then we can just take a year off. :) We are looking at getting hitched in August / September of 2009 depending on where we decide to get married and what dates they have available. There is an Engagement Party being planned by Mom and Uncle Ray. Invitations will be going out as soon as I get them everyones address's. It's going to be a HUGE bash and I hope everyone can come.

Despite not having all the details about the wedding, we've got our honeymoon all planned out. We've decided that we are going to join a tour group and spend 14 days hiking all over New Zealand. We are looking for sometime January 2010,their seasons are opposite of ours. To help raise some money for the trip, I've thrown a little "widget" on my webpage (bottom right) as a fund raiser. If anyone would like to chip in, feel free to head on over. %site.

On another note, I haven't heard from a lot you that I've emailed! You know who you are! :) I hope you guys will shoot me an email and catch up with me. It tends to be easier to email than it does to make a phone call. Either way, if I don't hear from you via email, I will hopefully see you at the Engagement Party.

Hope everyone is doing well.
Laura and I send our love!

The New Lists

Well, I just spend a little time getting my book and movie collection online. I know you are wondering why the hell I want all my books and movies in a list online. Well, I keep looking for the "perfect" application to store my lists and didn't realize that it was sitting right under my nose, DRUPAL! For the time being they are out there for the public viewing, which is fine by me. Just remember that some of these books are Laura's *cough* the romance novels *cough*.

Asus EeePC 900 - Incoming!

So yesterday I finally sold the Mac. It was a sad day. I've had the big guy for almost four years. Unfortunately, it's been sitting on my desk practically unused for quite awhile. So I opted on selling it and I ended up purchasing a Asus EeePC 900. I wanted something small that I could use on the train for some Drupal coding and for the occasional movie and I didn't need a powerful system. Hopefully I'll get it in next week and will post a quick and dirty review. Woot!

The Return of the Trailer

Laura and I spent some of the weekend restoring the trailer that we'll be traveling New England in. It's taking a little bit of time, but coming along quite nicely. We are trying to get it up and running by July 4th weekend. She's got a horse show and we are going to make that weekend the launch weekend for the trailer. We prolly won't have the whole trailer done, but the outside should be 99% complete and the inside will need a fair amount of work.
