If you're a Landry, this is the place for you!

The Power of Persistence

I was thinking back a couple days ago to a course that I took that my old landlord, Dennis McCurdy put on called Find A Way. I suggest you jump over and take a look at the site, I'm not going to give all the info that can be found there. Anyways, during the course, Dennis gave out a little card with a quote on it:

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. --- Calvin Coolidge

I think it's an important quote as it's incredibly true. It's all about forward movement and doing what ever it takes to keep that ball moving. A lot of times, you don't see examples of persistence on a day to day bases, but I do just about everyday. Dan has to be one of the most persistent people I have ever met, he's like a dog with a bone. I know, I know, that was a really bad analogy, but it's true. I think working with him daily helps me see what persistence can really get you and what you are capable of if you persist and work hard at that task.

Whether it's a task or a problem or planning for a vacation, if you persist, you can make it happen. Just don't give up.
